We heard it was originally used in cardiac wards to start hearts beating.

It looks so perfect, that it almost looks fake. Like one of those Gallery Mint repros.

I'd love to see that baby close up. I saw a MS65 Chain cent they had about a year ago.

I do not want to be too critical and literal, but the hearts in the cardiac ward are already beating, some may be too fast and some too slow. Now, they should probably take it to the morgue. It would be really valuable if it could bring dead people back. image

I thought the same thing when I saw that coin. Lately I have been sending in coins from 68-71 proof sets trying to get a 69 ultra cameo grade and have not had a lot of success. It is amazing to think that the mint could produce a coin of that quality that long ago.

I saw that one on their site before. I'd love to own any classic dcam gold. But it will always be a love affair from afar unless I win the lottery. Since I don't play the lottery, I expect it'll take a while to win.
  • A 69????? C'mon, while its a great coin, it is really possible that a proof gold coin could have been minted in such an almost perfect fashion and then remained in an almost perfect state for 105 years???

Not to say it isnt heart stopping to look at, but sometimes I wonder about grade inflation on some of these coins. Dont think it would make a big price difference between 67 or 68 and a 69 though.
