It kinda depends on the relative merit of the words "Love" and "Like".

    A) is possibly true, but probably not.
    B) is possibly true, but probably not.
    C) is probably true, with small possibility that it's not.
and D) is almost certainly false.

Therefore, I'll go with C. image

  • I'll try
b: She liked AU. quarters more than MS. quarters.
because the AU was a 1796 US 25c correctly graded in a PCGS slab, and the MS was a fugly AT cleaned, whizzed, holed silver canadien in a PCI Green Label

  • This quiz reminds me of what I used to do back in college for fun. After my first year of Astronomy courses, every quarter I went back to my advisors Astronomy 101 (Intro) & 125 (Observational) Final Exam class to retake the test, with the intent to score zero on his multiple guess test. Scoring a zero is a lot tougher than you first might think, by just guessing on a ABCD multiple guess you'll get ~25%, so to score a zero you really do have to know the material. I scored 0 13 times, scored 1 twice, scored 2 four times (never was that great at identifying constellations from slide pictures). It was a running joke in the astronomy department and the professors did encourage it, because it caught cheaters all the time. More than a few times people asked me or the others what we were doing in there, since they hadn't seen us all year, so we'd say we're astronomy majors here just to take the test for fun - most of those people would then try to copy off us image

So, who wants to copy my answers?

to get this back to coins, c'mon everyone, read my sig and sell me this:

    Not changing my answer....

But I guess I might re-look at the question if "UC" isn't what I thought it was, "Ultra-Cameo".

If "UC" is "Uncirculated", I might strain my brain enough to try again.

  • Here is a hint: You can call the coin anything or any grade you wish, and you can change the the grades ie: PR=proof, UC= uncirculated, AU= about uncirculated, and MS= mint state.............. regardless there is only one correct answer................... image

  • still have a problem because of English like Tommy pointed out. Think of it this way, it's possible to love someone/something without liking them/it. So, is love > like? yeah we're probably being hyper-critical, but... you're the one talking about logic and love image

Ok......To provide a full analysis to date:

You are saying that B and C are not correct since those are the only answers given to this point (B by Wekar, and C by me.)

However, A) is obviously wrong since she likes UC "not at all", (i.e. = 0). Therefore, she can't "like" MS quarters less. (Unless you have a negative "like" scale).

    D) is wrong by the same logic. (UC is liked "not at all", therefore PR quarters can't be liked less).

So, my assumption that B and C are wrong is incorrect, and you are actually dis-allowing the answers based on the stated basis of the answer.

    C) Dropping my question about the relative merits of "like" and "love", PR quarters are never measured on the "like" scale, and could possibly be liked less than AU quarters, so I'll call this "possibly false".

    B) The first part is correct by stated truths....i.e. she like AU quarters. Therefore, it is possibly true that she liked them more than MS quarters, which are never measured on the "like" scale.

I really don't think one can choose between B) and C) based on given information.

The answer is "C." She clearly loved or liked or whatever you want to call it, PR quarters more than anything. She only kind of liked AU. Therefore, she must like PR more than AU.
  • "puttogether" is the best so far ..... image

  • The answer can not be B. Love has a higher value than like, if she loves MS but not really AU therefore she can not like AU more than MS.

Loved and liked used in past tense is confusing. This is done on purpose to throw us of, or just poorly written.

This leaves C to be the only logical answer at 5 in the morning. Mary loved PR, but did not really love AU = she liked PR more than AU.

Otherwise this question is not based on logic, and I would like to counter you with another question

If a boat was flying across the desert, and it lost a wheel, how many pancakes does it take to build a house? Well jeffatbeach answer that one.
  • I answered before him
  • image... Of course she liked PR more than AU because she loved PR.... she loved MS less, and did not like UC. ..........do you get it now ?? ..whew this was a good one and you were right on top of it ! way to go !!
