It's made of brass and is about the size of a US cent?

    The first side is reminiscent of the old "To Hanover" tokens of Queen Victoria, but it's too small. I don't know what you have there, but it's a neat little thing. Dated 1838-1839 ?

    The date reads 1688-1690. At the bottom left of the crest is a small BC with a crown between the letters...British Columbia?

    Not British Columbia - at least nothing close to any tokens I've seen from BC.

    The coat of arms looks British too me. Some of the heraldry looks similar to that on the reverse of a $10 Canadian $5 gold coin.

    Possibly a medalet with suspension ribbon missing?
