What is the best way to dispose of accumulated, circulated wheat cent, buffalos, jeffersons, and &qu

What ways have you forumites found to be successful in disposing of the above types of coins that you accumulated when you were a YN.

I have alot of material that I am going through, organizing and looking to dispose of (sentimentality about "coins I acquired as a kid" aside, I would like to convert alot of this stuff to cash and use same to pick up few "Adult (middle aged wierdo who likes coins) coins").

When I attend coin shows, I walk around with a pocket of common Buffs, wheats, etc ... and hand them out to the kids/YNs ... with parental permission, of course.

I'm with RGL. Give them away in small lots or make them prizes and spread lots of goodwill.

I think most people list their junk stuff as Investor Lots, or Dealer Lots, or unsearched estate Hoards. That seems to work on ebay.

Spend the obsoletes just to mess with cashier's heads.

sell it to the coin vault . see how over priced it could sell fore, never know it could be the next hottest trend in colleceting

Sell them on ebay as "Usearched Hoard from Estate" - Use old Mrs. Haversham (aka have our sham) for a story line.

I put a few in the "leave a penny, take a penny" trays in the gas stations, hoping to entice another someone to get into collecting.

I also leave these types of coins in the little 'need a penny" boxes at convenience stores.

I put them back into circulation for fun. Or, you can send them to me and I will happily oblige. image

Start a piece-of-$hit website like this one: federalmint.com and sell 1/4 troy pound of junk silver coins for $99. Argh. image

Perhaps the price is just too steep.
