Large cent- Apple cheeks variety?

Would Pcgs Holder it and Is it the Apple cheeks s-24?

I don't see the apple cheek variety listed in the on-line PCGS population report - sorry.

Yes, it is S-24...and yes it would holder.

I don't know exactly what it is about this Design but I'm highly attracted to it. Amazingly beautiful.

Purple73, that is definitely the "apple cheek" variety, Sheldon-24 and it should holder at around VF-25 or 30. It has a pretty nasty rim ding at 7 O'clock, but the color is very nice as are the surfaces. The central reverse is often weak on this variety due to die sinking. TomT.

Not in my book - I thought you were asking if PCGS would holder the coin as an "apple cheek" and my reply was no, based upon the on-line pop. report information I had available. Sorry if I misunderstood and/or gave the wrong impression in my reply.

Edited to add: I'm a bit concerned by the rim bump (mentioned by the highly knowledgeable and personable poster above) and the coin does appear to be at least somewhat porous. Consequently, I'd be afraid to buy it without a return privilege.

Thanks guys. I haven't been buying coins lately because I'm saving up for a larger purchase, One of the coins that I really want, and this is one of them. I'm tempted but I'm gonna pass. I don't know much about Large cents and I think my money would be better spent if I buy one in a holder. Less risk and nervousness.

*** it's not that I don't take your advice seriously, I would feel more secure with it being in the holder. I sure you folks understand this.
