How is the accuracy of the pricing guide at Heritage?

Just how current and accurate is this guide? How does it compare to the PCGS guide? Are there any reliable online pricing guides?

It's not a guide. It's actual auction prices realized.

If you want significant pricing information...use their Permanent Auction Archives...this will also shows you the history and trends of the coin's pricing.

Well the Heritage guide represents actual prices paid in individual transactions. Not sure what the PCGS guide means as it is often outdated and only aplies to coins in PCGS slabs. For au coins the PCGS guide figure is for au50 so you have no real idea what au53 au55 or au58 would bring. The Heritage prices reflect a 15% buyer's premium tacked on.

It is a guide based on auction prices ... but is it accurate in that is it ever updated with recent auctions?

Actually, you know exactly what the PCGS guide means! It is for PCGS certified pieces only but can serve as a relative guide for other coins.

The Heritage guide is as up to the minute as you can get. The PCGS guide is updated how often? Anyone's guess!!

The Heritage archives are very up to date. The data include the auction results for Sunday (3/20)

I am confused. I wanted to see the pricing guide, but the link is not working for me. I have always used the prices realized archives. As stated, real prices with juice added and dates is as accurate as is possible. Is that what you are looking at/asking about? If so, asking about accuracy is confusing.

I would not count on the PCGS guide.
Look at their listing for 2004 D Wisconsin quarter and 1999D SBA....

You can also use the teletrade price guide. It gives information on every coin that has sold in their auctions. You can also look up past selling prices on ebay. Between the three you can get a pretty good idea of the range of selling prices for almost any coin.
