75 mini's

Are these very popular? I recently came across some, in ExMT - NrMt so picked up some team & series checklists cards to try and ebay. Do the commons sell for anything in ExMT-NrMt? I think I could get a few more if so.

I'm confused about this set because Beckett has always listed this set as 2.5x the value of the normal 75 Topps, but as a buyer of vintage unopened product I've found that there is a ton more mini packs and boxes than there are regular 75s out there. Anybody know how that could be? Did all the 75s get opened and the minis just sit in storage?

My experience is that you need the right buyer. A lot of people don't like them and won't buy them. Personally I like them. However, I think with the right buyer you will get a 50% premium over the regular 75 not the 2.5x in Beckett.

Beckett lists the stars at .75 to 1.5X and the Rcs at .5 to 1X .

I've never seen them listed at 2.5X unless thats a newer listing.

    But I love the minis.

Back in the late 80's, the mini's were VERY popular. I remember them being 4-5x the regular issue. Then the novelty wore off and collectors went back to the traditional cards. I remember having a NRMT+ Rice rookie as part my main collection that got stolen.

I don't collect the mini's but I do like them - here is one that I took in trade - Ryan is looking pretty good in this card:

I guess I meant 1.5x. I haven't looked at a Beckett in about 10 years. I keep waiting for the one to come out where every card has a down arrow and is half of what it was listed the previous month to reflect the actual market. I'm pretty sure that will never happen.

    These are the cards I picked up today: 46, 101, 146, 236, 246, 255, 304, 361, 384, 443, 486, 487, 511, 517, 589, 611

The cards are like any other topps, centering is all over the place. corners are about like this, some better, some worse. Looked like the guy had broke a set to sell. Let me know if interested.

    - Can't get the files to attach, I must be missing a step in the instructions. PM me your email if interested.

I am also working on a raw mini set. Im about 85 cards or so short. I have quite a few extra in ExMt to NM/MT condition.
I have noticed that over the past couple of months, seems like minis have been pretty hot on ebay. Commons going for .30 a piece, Brett rookies in nice condition are selling way over value, and all the rookies(Carter, Rice, Lynn, Yount, Brett) are all hitting close to full Beckett.
I would be happy to trade if anyone is interested.

On ebay, there is much less unopened mini material. The cellos and rack pack sell for decent prices.
Premium quality mini's - I'm talking PSA 9's and 10's can be expensive. PSA 8's and below are common and are priced accordingly.

I havent seen any PSA 9 Bretts recently other than a PSA 9 with an OC qualifier. That went for around 100.00. A clean 8 will run 110.00.

There was a guy at the past chicago show that had a huge folder full of minis but the abundance of major print dots and OC were astonishing. There is a very nice Pete Rose PSA 9 at the current superiorsports.com auction.
