mailing Canadian Maple Leafs to Canada !?

Does anyone know why Canadians would buy Maple Leafs on ebay , then have them mailed to Canada? Lack of coin shops ? Higher cost ? Availability? After shipping and possible customs fees , can they really be cheaper ?

    Don't know. I got mine from the US, but then again I was sent it for the expressed purpose of photographing it for an American's website. One can usually skirt the customs charges by labelling it as a "gift". But my guess would be that the Maple Leaf could be taxed in Canada upwards of 14-17% from local dealers. So the difference may not be great.
