    Had he gotten to play a couple more seasons and gotten to 500 HRs, by everyone on here who says McGwire should be (saying 500 HRs should be automatic induction), then yeah he would have.

    He had a nice run, but his skills diminished to the point that he could not make it to the Hall via longevity or attaining any milestones.

    Seriously, I would say no.

    Baseball reference does show Hall of Fame monitor with 103 with likely HOFer at 100, but I still say no for a long time at least.

    I agree. Mattingly is 134, and everyone who has a higher number is either still active, a steroid suspect, or in the hall.
