using my tripod sort of like a copy stand. I also have found the darker the room the better the lamps seems to work. I have to get another lamp. Righ now I have two light sources but they are not balanced. One lamp has a 25 watt halogen and the other has a 60 watt reveal bulb. I am still learning this coolpix 4300 it has more bells and whistles than my old Kodak easy share....LOL!
