Just shot this coin...

using my tripod sort of like a copy stand. I also have found the darker the room the better the lamps seems to work. I have to get another lamp. Righ now I have two light sources but they are not balanced. One lamp has a 25 watt halogen and the other has a 60 watt reveal bulb. I am still learning this coolpix 4300 it has more bells and whistles than my old Kodak easy share....LOL!

It would be better without the plastic. You could keep it half in the plastic at least. That's what I do... the risks I take for good pics.

Great photos. I got a new camera and the manual is thicker than some novels I've read. Top it off the "software" disk for the editing program takes more memory than my computer has so I ended up right back in the same fix, working in a big round circle trying to gets pics posted here.

Looks like you solved the problem rather handily.
