Talk about timing! My 1,000th post and it's Grade Results! I sent this as minimum MS63. PCGS received this on 01/12/05 as my Collector Club Quarterly Submission. Was NGC MS63. I don't really know this series but it just looked too clean to me for a 63? I was happy with it in an NGC Holder but for just the cost of shipping I thought it was worth a shot. I'm was hoping for a 64/5! Lee

Congrats. I own a few seated half dimes in mint state and I know it's very hard to grade this series from a picture, but your coin looks much better than average MS63.....maybe undergraded?
PCGS seems to like luster when giving grades of MS-64 and higher on modern coins. I have a couple a seated coins that I thought deserved higher, but are stuck at MS-63 because of luster.
I plucked a seated half dime out of junk type set the other day. I submitted it under the quarterly freebie at FUN. It was an 1873 I believe. I thought it should grade Ms-63/ 64, will see what it grades next week??
