Wow - an honest person on ebay! It may actually be double struck, although it could be a post-mint alteration - I can see what he describes in the photos. However, it also appears to be broadstruck. This could be interesting...

It certainly looks broadstruck. I can't tell about the double struck part.

I wonder if Ozzy'sdad has seen this one!

Very odd coin. It's hard to tell how much (any/some/all) of it is as struck and how much might be post-Mint shenanigans (other than the copper plating). Nice to see the seller clearly spelling out that it's NOT a copper cent; amidst all the fakers and scammers, they're at least totally honest about that.

My guess is that this is a cast counterfeit coin probably manufactured in China, the counterfeit capital of the world... (in my opinion)image.

Referring to the the one photo of the seller showing the edge of the coin, you'll notice the seam mark which is common on cast coins. Copper was probably added to the outside of the coin after casting. The other photos appear to show how bad a cast job it was by the poor strike.

I think instead of double-struck it should read double cast!

Of course I may be wrong. I'm not an expert. It looks like someone with the ebay name fredweinberg is bidding on it!

I started thinking can you cast steel.... thinking the seller says it is magnetic. So I think, it will need to be iron... Can you cast iron--duh there's my answer!
