NFL Playoff Contest!

Playoffs are coming up in a little less than two weeks and we should have a contest for them. I tried to think of a challenging contest and I think I got one.

Play each of the eleven NFL playoff games against the spread. I like this because some teams will be heavily favored so you’ll have to lay many points if you pick them. For the first 10 playoff games you have “weights” for your picks. 2 each of 1 point, 2, 3, 4, & 5 point plays. The 5’s are your surest picks and the 1’s are your least sure picks. If you get it right you get that many points, but if you get it wrong you lose that many points. The SuperBowl is a 5-point play. You must play all eleven games.

Everyone is welcome to play. I will throw in a Vick card to the winner. And if anyone else wants to contribute a card feel free.

I didn't explain what I meant by weights too well so let's not do that - just make picks against the spread.

I'm taking SEA -4, SD -5.5, GB -5.5, and DEN +10. I believe both SD and GB will be -6 soon.

Jets +8 - With a line this high, the Jets should change their name to the New York Dangerfields (They just don't get any respect at all!).

Rams +6 1/2 - And I wouldn't be surprised if the Rams win the game on the field!

Minnesota +8 - Instead of playing the game, why not have Moss and Owens square off at the 50-yard.....the team with the bigger a**hole advances to the next round.

Patriots -1 - I'm figuring that since this is a home game for New England, the zebras won't be so quick to throw a flag when someone breathes too hard on a Colt WR. And nobody asked me but - if I'm the Pats' defensive coordinator, I'm blitzing on each and every play!

Nice picks 1420 - Jets damn near won SU, the Falcons weren't as strong as the other picks statistically so I understand your Rams +7 play.

Anyway I am still waiting for ATL to get more points...

I'm going with Philly and Pittsburgh. I want to take NE but can't do it. I just can't pick a road favorite
here even though I should. Belechik aint playing. I think Pittsburgh got a good scare from the Jets.

So it has come to this. I'm sure everyone knows my pick but just in case I'll take the BIRDS and
whatever points being offered.

I want to say thanks to cornolio for starting and running this contest. It was a lot of fun to check
in and respond during the playoffs. I had a blast for sure!

I hope everyone gets to enjoy the big game next week and hopefully it will be a good game with
good food and drink for all.

Thanks guys for playing the contest. I think the game will be low scoring (roughly 35-42 point range) so I'd take Philly +7.

DirtyDog, I believe you can get better than 2-1 odds for just Pats -13.5.
