It all depends where the arrow is pointing when the wheel stops spinning. I have had plenty of coins the second half of this year that would have been DCAM the first half come back without any designation. So much for the grading Gods!
I sent a 1957 cameo Proof Franklin half to PCGS for grading that came back a PR66. I cracked it out and resubmitted it and it came back a PR66CAM. Youre half sure looks cameo to me.
I guess NGC thought the reverse came up short. They lean slightly more toward device frost, while PCGS leans slightly more toward mirrors. It's a coin I'm pretty sure would grade cameo at PCGS.
I just had a 1965 SMS go MS66 no cam at NGC. It was cracked out of a PCGS MS66CAM holder. Same deal. Great mirrors, but a bit light on the frost.
NGC is a lot tougher these days than some people realize.
I'm wondering if the contrast on the obverse of the 54 is too light for the cam designation? Or is that just the photo being a little weak? I think Russ's 62 got jammed.......
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !

Just replace the pad on the buffer and send it back in
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I feel your pain:
Fortunately, my anguish was mitigated by the fact that this was on the same submission:

<< <i>So I take it that you'll be sending the 62 to PCGS soon. >>
Nope. Not enough upside. The 1962 in cameo is common and cheap. Besides, I already have four in at PCGS right now.
