Morgan PCGS Coin Number question for the experts

I am about to submit a coin for regrading that has cert# 2068535 The coin number on the holder is 07093.61 but 7093 does not exist in the current listings which go from 7092 to 7094. Whats up with this number? image

This coin is in one of the original PCGS holders by the way.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    7093 is the PCGS coin number for 1879-S in PL.
    7092 is the coin number for 1879-S in non-PL.

    And I'm just curious... why are you sending it in for regrade? Even if it goes up 2 points the increase in value won't be more than the cost of shipping plus grading fee.

    To justify giving up the small premium that has in a rattler holder, the only economic reasons to submit it is you really think

    it's a MS-64PL ($350-$400), or that it really has mirrors where you can clearly read newsprint at 8" on BOTH sides (a DMPL), or the holder is very scratched or cracked, or your registry set at PCGS is complete and the tiny points increase is important.

    Otherwise, believe me, no one takes an ancient PCGS grade at face value--the coin does the talking.

    On your question DMPLs have currently a 9 in front of the number, perhaps they had a zero in front of PL numbers,

    but have now dropped the practice---or it might be a misprint. Ask Cammy...he knows ALL!!

    Soory mistyped-I meant MS-65PL, not MS64PL, and the MS-65DPLs go at $650-$800

    I just wanted to give it another shot at grading since the consensus on the board is that PCGS undergraded in the early years. At first it was just for a reholder but then I thought, what the heck, why not at least try. If it picks up a point or two then it would have been worth it. Mind you, I like collecting and am not necessarily in the hobby for profit.

    If that was the case, then I'm way in the hole.............but, thanks for the info. image

    The consensus is also that most of the undergraded rattlers have already been cherried and upgraded.
