I was going to as a precursor to my Smithsonian photography job....but alas, the Smithsonian job was bumped forward a week because too many other people had the same plans and the archive room would be too busy. So, I'll still be going to Washington, but not Baltimore.

I'll be there as part of the ANR contingent for both our auction and the show. We'll have two booths at the convention, including one which will be used to display selected highlights from the Eliasberg Collection of world gold coins and another VERY special U.S. coin we will be auctioning in January:

The only 1866 No Motto dollar in private hands.

Our auction is Tuesday November 30 and Wednesday December 1 at the Renassaisance Harborplace Hotel at 202 East Pratt Street. Lot viewing starts on Sunday morning the 28th at 9 AM.

Come visit, introduce yourself, and see some spectacular rarities!

The only 1866 No Motto dollar in private hands.

John - Does that mean that the Dupont coin has been donated? Somehow, I missed that story!

Edited to say that I will be there at R.M. Smythe's table, of course.

    Andy --

Though the terms of the loan's permanence are undisclosed, the duPont piece is in the ANA Museum collection for the forseeable future. I'm not sure that there has been an exception to the rule that a coin loaned by duPont ends up staying put.

I plan to go Saturday. This is only my second show. I have a few wants that I may look for, but nothing rare or expensive this time.

If anyone wants to plan a lunch table somewhere, please post. Since it starts at 10, breaking at noon will be tough. Perhaps meeting at 1:00 by the sign in table? Anyone interested?

There are lots of good places to eat (Seafood, a huge food court, Hooters image , lots more) in Harborplace which is a very short walk form the convention center.

I wouldn't call the food Great by any means at the place across the street. It's a typical bar and grill with HIGHLY overpriced food.

Chinese food for me in the mall thing!!!
