Another forum/site? gasp....
Has anyone here cut their teeth in coin discussion group elsewhere as robust as this site, that...
deals more with raw, lower grade, noncertified US coins. Thinking of young collectors, or noobs, those with lower budgets and/or different goals than most of the folks here? or is this an oxymoron, like "military intelligence" or "honest attorney".
it is fun to see how the other half lives here, though.
thanks!

Do your best to avoid circular arguments, as it will help you reason better, because better reasoning is often a result of avoiding circular arguments.

I also love to go through rolls to find coins.

I'll second that.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
You're right - this site is great for any type of coin discussion, but the BST has very few coins I can afford ($50 and under, roughly) that aren't very graded very low or moderns. There are even fewer in the series I enjoy.

Have you tried a Wanted-to-buy thread?

Being unmoderated, there are some trolls, spammers, and plain old idiots there, but overall, I like it. There are a bunch of RCCers who also post here, myself included. RCC is also (now) famous for being fodder for the ACG lawsuit.
google discussion of all coin related subjects is allowed.
Obviously this site is the best though.
I talk about whatever I want here with a tempering of subject and content to hopefully ask meaningful questions and give relevent answers. My Coin knowledge is limited but growing, yet I still feel I have a lot to offer this forum. Don't be intimidated by the members who can sink thousands of dollars into newps and the members who are working on the #1 registry collections. You can post all you want. I for one would like to see some more discussion of coins like you described above. If you post somewhere else you lessen the impact of this place.
What sort of non-expert opinions do you get about bust coins??
Accidently revived thread.
