Perhaps too over the edge for most here but does anyone else drop coins into a vending machine and hit COIN RETURN just to see what comes out. Many machines don't return the same coins you dropped in. I've picked up a few 1965 Washington quarters 
and a very messy filled-die Deleware this way.
I'll play a few times then make my purchase, being sure to check any change I get back.
No big deal but fun to try.

Not true.
Casinos in Nevada are required to post a pay back percentage,and to pay out a certain %
they can order machines to pay out whatever they want as well as change it by replacing the processor.
having said that,if they advertise 97.6 % payback that probably dont mean you !
machine A may pay back an AVG of 1.05 per 1.00 and ,machine B pays .926 per 1.00,and thats an AVG,machine A could eat up 1,000 and not pay out squat !

Other possibly than Indian casinos, this isn't the case. I'm not familiar with any state whose gaming board lets casinos get away with less than 70% payback, and most casinos have between 92-96% payout (at least if there is any competition in the area) on their dollar slots, 90%-94% on the quarter slots. Of course, that means it could take $1000 of someone's money without returning one single coin, and then turn around and give out a $1000 jackpot to the next person who puts in a coin lol. But over the long run you will lose 4% of your money each time you run your bankroll through the machine.
An interesting, little known fact, is that most casinos have variations on video poker that pay between 100.5% and 101% of what you put in, but only if you play with computer-perfect precision. And again, that's over the long haul--the pros play about 1500 hands per hour, since you're gonna lose big time until you hit those royal flushes and straight flushes
An example of what I mean by "perfect" play is that in 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.5% payout) can be found on this website. As you can see, the strategy gets pretty complicated lol..."I've got 2, 2, 3, 4, 5...do I keep these two twos or shoot for a straight?...hmmm."
i bet nobody here knows the diff between a 9/6 and an 8/5 machine !
I play dice which just confuses the hell outta everybody,especially when i only play the wrong way bettor !
that strategy will normally win for you,as a plus,i have not paid for a room or a meal in Nevada in 15 yrs !
Mind you i am not a whale (aka large player).
If you dont ask for comps you dont get comps !
You have 5 cards on the screen and need to draw,the next 5 cards are already drawn and laying on the screen below the hand you have !
example: if you draw one card,the machine doesnt pull the next card from the "DECK" it was already there !
