remember a thread I started about 6-8 weeks ago on the BST board about a person who TTT's thread many times a day? It sure turned into a pile on Flame war all weekend while I was at a local show. ooops
yeah, and to think that started out as a minor rant. it actually had some reasonable responses that made me think others employ similar eBay bidding tactics as mine----post a bid to keep it in "My eBay" or just watch it to snipe at the end.
i recall an auction about three years ago by a seller with the ID colorcoin who i haven't seen lately. it was for a raw 1938 proof that had nice rim tone in blue and pale green/metallic. they stated that they always close their auctions early, so bidders shouldn't wait to snipe. being a newbie i did just that and maybe bid a bit too much but i won the coin and they did indeed close about 1-2 hours early. very strange regular tactic to employ.
the coin is now in my set as a very nice PCGS PR65.
oh yeah, Sean, this is the U.S. Coin relationship, so keep your shirt on!!!
