Anyone want to buy Texas rolls at double face, PM me. D rolls only, you pay shipping.

I actually started TiVo'ing the Coin Vault, just for the laughs. It's much easier to take the show when you can FF through most of the boring bits and just check out the outrageous "deals".
  • the mint gets 16 bucks a roll !

Could someone save me the time of looking this up, and tell me when the "show" is on? I haven't seen it in a while.

I actually was able to get US Mint wrapped Rolls at the bank a couple of years ago. I only found a few but it was a surprise.

The "show" is on the Shop at Home Network (SAH). It is on prime time every Monday evening from 8pm to midnight eastern time. It is also on during the night hours some other days. Probably at least 10 full hours a week. Times must vary depending on where you live and what cable system you are on.

You can buy a two roll set of P and D's directly from the U.S. Mint for $32 unopened; How is $39.95 searched a good deal imageimage

You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time !!! image
  • I never implied it was a good deal,i just said it wasnt a total rip-off like most crap they sell !

Not that I watch much but...

    COIN VAULT Sat. 7/10 4 - 6 am

    Sun. 7/11 3 - 6 am, 11pm - 3 am (Mon morning)

    Mon. 7/12 6 - 9 am, 8 - 12 midnight

    All times are EST

I actually learned a lot about different coins in general and also what is NOT a good deal.

My brother works at a bank in Denver. I get all mint wrapped at face. I love that brother
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

Highly unlikely since the only mint wrapped rolls of anything that were ever released to banks was the 2000 Sac dollar.

Sounds like a 100% markup over what they are worth. Pretty much typical of most of their coin offerings.

Condor - I assume he meant OBW rolls wrapped by Brinks, Wells Fargo, etc. Not MINT wrapped. Gosh, cut the guy some slack!!

I assume that is what he meant as well, but improper use of terms contributes to confusion and misunderstandings. I'm sure that many newbies who come here think that the Brinks wrapped rolls are actually Mint wrapped. I know much of the lay public does. Because of that scammers can easily sell Brinks wrapped rolls that could contain anything to newbies as "Mint wrapped rolls". (Similar to the use of the term "Double(d) Die" for any form of doubling seen on a coin.) As with any specialized field, proper use of terminology leads to precise transfer of information quickly, and improper use leads to misunderstandings. For that reason I tend to correct misuse or improper terms when I see them. We oldtimers will be able to read between the lines and understand, but it will help the newbies.

No Placid he didn't. The only people who mentioned getting Mint wrapped rolls were Semper Fi and Goober. The only time 100proof1957 mentions Mint rolls was in making the statement that the mint sold rolls for $16 a roll.

Hmmm, maybe son Conder101. I do know the Sac dollars I have are mint rolls. The first four series of quarters I broke so I don't have those original wrappings. I'll have him send some more up so I can verify what type of wrappings they are in. It'll give me something to hoard away.

$32 from the mint, but how much is shipping? Another 4 or 5 bucks?
