first thing I noticed was that he said it's limited to "only 30,000 Proof Silver Eagles for collectors."

then (besides STRUCK BY THE NATIONAL COLLECTORS MINT) in the Speceifcaions, he says "Edition Limit: 2,250"

The title is incomplete, but the auction is listed under modern commemoratives, not with silver Eagles.

The auction text is neither lengthy nor complicated. And it's complete.

This auction is far from a SCAM.

This is the same clown that was selling a bunch of those 1879-CCs (copies of course) and many forum members rousted him. CRUMB!
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

I like this statement he makes, in bold writing...hahaha

Maybe ebay should have a seperate area for this type of repro to be sold in. Other than that, the guy does tell you exactly what it is you're bidding on!

What's worse, these or the replica 1804 dollars that are loaded up in that catagory? This is one area that eBay needs to eleminate from the US Coin area. Maybe they should start Replica, copies, etc. catagory and put them in there proper place!

I agree that "replica" should be used in his description. He's duping too many noobies and non collectors. Then he keeps bidders private. He does this so people like us can't contact and warn the bidders. I remember that Morgan proof scam he was running. He was selling $9 replicas and advertising them as Morgan proofs and making hundreds of $$$ per auction. Of course new people are most likely not familiar with the NC Mint. One poor schmuck's ebay name was "saveforsonsfuture" Truly sad scammers take advantage of coin-uneducated people

There is another thing ebay should do to be more legitimate in the publics' eye. That is, to eliminate private bidders!

It's no coincidence that his coin auctions are private and his others auctions aren't. Scam all the way!!!

Why is this guy still a Power Screwer when his feedback is at 97.1%? Once again, eBay isn't even following their own rules.

You're right Russ. Doesn't a power screwer have to have at least a 99% positive?

All his negs pretty much say the same thing. How can it be .999 pure silver when its clad? Is it a clad planchet that is plated with pure silver?

Unbelievable. eBay should require all Power Sellers to maintain a 99% Feedback rating, refuse private auctions for items under, say, ten thousand dollars, and put replica coins in their own category. This would eliminate most of the monkeys.

No I'm not kidding you. That auction is not a SCAM. You may not like it, but it's not.

A scam would be listing a 1995 W and delivering an ordinary $24 1995 proof eagle. And then claiming the coins were switched by the buyer.

A scam would be cashing the money and claiming "the mail lost it" when the buyer never received it.

A scam would be McDonald's claiming "two all-beef patties".......

I don't think it's a scam either, but it is very unethical. Apparently the small claims courts don't think it's a scam either. Feedback from March 30:

Buyer: 'BUYER WATCH OUT' I HAVE FILED A SMALL CLAIMS IN MENTOR SEEYOU IN COURT!

Seller: I saw you in court and you lost. CASE CLOSED! it's public record.

In the literal sense it isn't a scam, but it sure is purposely deceptive. It's no accident that people are continually getting duped. People do need to educate themselves on what they're getting into, but this guy obviously knows that he's preying on people's ignorance.

I emailed the seller and asked why he doesn't include the word copy or replica in these auctions considering the number of negative feedbacks he's received. I'm betting he doesn't reply.
