If I sell you 500 bullion Silver Eagles are you required by law to send me some type of form 1099 to document the purchase?

  • Just to add that there are reporting requirements for certain types of bullion transactions that kick in at certain $ / quantity thresholds.

  • To clarify:

    If the bullion item is traded on the CFTE and the quantity transacted is enough to satisfy a CFTC contract, then the reporting requiremnet kicks in.
