I went to this show on Friday which was the 2nd day of the show and got there right when the doors opened at 10 am. The bourse floor never was very crowed nor did I notice "the buzz" that you always hear during busy shows. I think this had something to do with it being a business day and not everyone can take off from work. I was told that this is mainly a dealer to dealer show hence the strange show days; Thrusday thru Saturday and closed on Sunday. I noticed that a few dealers had already left the show by friday afternoon. Several dealer friends of mine keep telling me that I should have been there on Thursday.
It seemed to be a buyers market on non key/better date coins, especially if you knew the dealers. I found a few really cool liner coins and better date circulated barbers halves. The selection of coins at this show was awesome. One dealer had 7 1893-S morgans.
Next year I will pay for an earlybird pass and go on the first day.

  • I was present Thursday. The show opened with a lot of empty tables.

I was hoping for some onsite grading, but PCI and NGC were only accepting submissions. That took care of one reason I went. There was a good mix of dealers that attend the larger Georgia shows. I don't collect gold or silver dollars, but there seemed to be lots of it in all grades from raw to high end. I didn't see many early proofs, except IHC's. There were green holder and older upgrade candidates to be found. There were lots of proof Buffaloes. I bought a 1936 satin (I saw 7 to choose from) that didn't break the bank. Lots of toned Frankies, and Liberty dimes. I bought a couple Lincoln varieties. Some day these will be worth the cost.
