ANACS service sure is fast!

I got home today and found out that my recent ANACS submission was already back. I mailed this group of coins in on June 7 for 5 day express. WOW! I mailed a PCGS submission at the same time and its still in process under the 15 day, in fact I am still waiting on a 15 day that was thier 10 days prior to that one? All those show dates that you have to deduct really add up!

I thought they did a good job grading the coins, only one I disagreed with them on! They were tough on the copper; as tuff as any of the other services.

Here's what came back

1828 Half Cent Xf-40 (I called Xf-45) I think PCGS would have 45'd it?
1810 Large Cent VF details net Fine for light corroison (I knew this one would net, but needed it holdered for re-sale purposes)
1837 Large Cent AU details net graded Xf-45 for rim nicks (This one I was upset with. The rim nicks are so miniscule that you need a microscope to see them) This coin should have Au-55'd easily. Its a comin out of the holder!

1866 Indian Cent Ms-62 (I called 61 or 62 BN)
1870 Two cent Ms-62BN (I called 62RB) I thought for sure it would pull RB
1862 Half Dime Ms-62 ( I called Ms-62)
1930 SLQ Ms-62 ( I called 62 possibly 3)

Do you have a pic of that 2 center? I'd love to see it.

So this is from the (perceived) 3rd 0r 4th best TPGer?
Who has a registery that accept all 3rd party slabs?
I have stayed with PCGS, but have slabbed problem coins with ANACS & found their service great.
With any smarts I would collect coins slabbed by them. If you say they grade as conseratively as PCGS, I know they sell for less, so I can buy MORE!image

In my experience, ANACS is very tough on copper; which is good.

ANACS will net grade at the drop of a hat. I mean to the extreme silliness. I've got a few net graded coins for "scratched" that I have yet to find a scratch on. I'm talking magnification and still can't find a scratch in the devices, fields or even rim!

    Catch22,

I would go as to say I would call the 37 large cent silly, this coin looks good. I cant understand why they called that one.

    Ajai,
As far as the comments on PCGS. My personal collection is 100% PCGS, which is my service of choice. But when I buy coins strictly for re-sell, it adds a lot to the price if I have to submit at 30.00 a coin, plus the longer turn time ties up funds. I only send the coins that will benefit the most from a 30.00 PCGS holder. Which in this case are 4 that were sent to pCGS at the same time. I had enough to make the 15.00 5 coin min at ANACS and thought that having them holdered would help sell the coins easier.

Thing is, I dont buy junk coins for my self and I dont buy them to sell to other people either, but my raw coin sells when I have them suffer sometimes becuase of my lower feedback rating, even though I have been a member for several years. I think so many people have been burned and screwed by e-bay sales in the past, that many folks dont bid much on raw or are very selective. (Cant say that I blame them.)
I had some real nice raw material the other day that would easily holder at PCGS or any other service, I thought I would try them raw, didnt bring no where near what they were worth . One example was a Bust half. An exceptional original AU coin, that sold for 145.00. I should have holderd this coin as it would have been worth the time and extra dough.

    Indeed they are!
