Forum Members you can trust to buy/sell...List em??

It makes me ill to read about a board member being rooked. No matter illness or a plain scam......if you buy or sell to follow members I believe that maybe we should start our own feedback forum? Anyone else into this idea?. I believe I could post feedback to over 14 members...all positive in my case. But all my dealings have been private so I do not wish to post anything that would offend anyone. I would never post specifics nor would I post members names w/o their approval. Anyone have any ideas? BTW.....I will never mention any names in any of my transactions without their approval as I stated earlier!!!. I'm sure many others feel the same way. Just my thoughts.....Any other ideas? Maybe a useless idea? Just my thoughts. eBay is full of scams......there is no excuse for someone being scammed on these boards.

The bad here are few and far between... I've done business with LOTS of members, and to try to name them all would be impossible, and I know i'd miss some. Here's a sampling (don't feel bad if I've missed you, please)

Greed breeds in the souls of all men! Circumstances dictate actions and at times they affect everyone! It is a shame it happens, but to downtrod them publicly would be horrible! Keep your dealings secret and don't wash them in public. It is no different than the so-called scams some report on eBay, or others, but let's try and resolve the problem away from the forum and deal with the moderator or ANA!

I've done business with a number of people here. Each one has worked out well. I don't even remember most of the user ids I've done biz with, either. One thing I have seen, when a person is a frequent poster there is a big disincentive for them to cheat someone.

I've done business with a few people on these boards, not a lot (yet) but suffice it to say, I've never had a bad deal, or even a mediocre deal, with anyone. Most people on these boards are outstanding individuals, and it's sad that one person has cast enough doubt on the population of these boards as a whole to create this thread in the first place.

The flip side of this is that you just never know what personal issues or other issues can pop up with anyone at anytime. Unless you have a long personal relationship with someone, you should treat anything else like business. Sometimes I've been amazed at how I've been treated by people I thought I could fully trust (not forum members however).

Always take caution.

I have had transactions with over 10 forum members and never a bad experience. I am also acting as an agent for 5 right now in a group PCGS submission and appreciate their trust in letting me send their coins to PCGS. It means a lot. When someone violates that trust, I agree with Manorcourtman, we should rake them over the coals.

I just went through my address book and counted 128 known forum members with whom I've done business (either on the forum, our website, ebay, an ad, etc.). I have yet to have a bad forum transaction. I do not reveal the names of customers without their permission so will not post the list. However, I am happy to vouch for any of the group that desires to use me as a reference.

I can still think of at least one you forgot to add to the long list, Jeremy. But you can be forgiven for that- it has been a while.

Cathy's was the only list I made it onto, but that was a pretty recent transaction.

I could not even begin to list all the members I've bought from (or sold to). The list would be at least as long as Jeremy's. And I'm sure it would be incomplete no matter what.

I will say this- I haven't been burned yet. Not here.

I have had deals with many of you. All were no problem tranactions and I felt good about it before and after. I will say that when I wanted something very expensive and original Mike Dixon turned up with the right prodct in great shape and with a good price. There are so many I can't remember all the names. Sufice to say, I am apt to do a deal here before ebay and before my local dealer gets a crack at it.

I have found that there are bad apples in every bunch, but on this forum especially, they are at the very bottom of the basket with hundreds of perfectly good apples above them. I have had transactions of one sort or another with well over half of the active members of the US coin board, and can honestly say that I have never had a bad encounter with any of them.

To add, many forum members have entrusted me with their coins in working on my research. Not one of them hesitated to send valuable coins - which says a lot in itself. I think 99.9% of this community is nothing but the best - it seems that the other 0.01% get most of the attention.
