Sheesh, the sentimental responses to this thread are frightening. Doesn't anybody look at what someone actually does?...not just what they talk about doing? >>

No, they don't. The symbolism far outweighs the substance obviously.

<< <i>Reagan will always be remembered fondly in my home and in my heart. If you compare and contrast the memorial for Paul Wellstone and the memorial for Ronald Reagan, the tasteless jabs from the commielibs are less bothersome. >>

It would be a good idea for you to have the ability to define and internalize what the reality is about "commie" ie: socialism, and "lib" ie" Liberal.

    SLAMMER........

Where the heck do you get your information?

It must be from Democrats that have no regard to the facts.
The same people who have been trying to "REWRITE" the
true history of the 80's for the past 20 years.

Only uninformed people will buy into your nonsense. And of
course, those are mainly the ones that do no research on
their own and end up voting for Democrats.

    mhnies,
I dare not comment toward a person with a confederate flag as his icon. It is stupifying that you consider yourself informed.

    BillJones,
My only failure here is the zeal with which I continue to shoot fish in a barrel. Hitting one of you slippery suckers has been nearly impossible! It's like trying to talk hard science with a Creationist.

    razorface1027,
I don't think you're actually Underdog just because that's your icon. You don't watch pop-culture much, eh? That's Lucy Liu. Or maybe I am Lucy and this is how I get away from the stresses of being a big movie star......

    JoyofCollecting,
Thank you for being one of the very few people here to respond with some actual facts in your support of Reagan. Maybe you should give these other people some lessons.

    ksteelheader,
I'm up for a good brew anytime. It seems your emotionality has gotten the best of you. But I can road-rage as good as the next person, so just make sure you buy me something that's in a frosty mug.

    BigAl,
Your argument is as weak as the Gators on gameday. And by the way, did you ever think that it was because YOU were working 100 freakin' hours per week that you were succeeding?

    mrearlygold,
That is so true! Well put.

SeatlleSlammer, let this be public, stop pm'ing me immediately!

the Moderators will be notified of your message to me.

stop any communication with me and please avoid my thread, start your own.

Folks, the purpose of my thread wasn't to start a political debate.....

It was simply to pay respect and let out some emotion I was feeling about the passing of one of our leaders of this great nation.

Yesterday was a day that will live in our memories, it was sad, it was historical, it was educational.......

Now my heart feels a heavy burden for Nancy... She looks so frail....... May the Lord bring her support and comfort......

Lucy, you PM'd ME! This is what you sent so all can see:

I could care less what you think..... The Lord isn't bound by what you or me may have to say...

What people like you whom have no clue about what the bible really teaches fail to realize is that Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost...

If Reagan in his heart accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savorior, then your input and opinion is
of no value, save your breath, and don't pm me again.

Gods love is beyond human understanding, and according to Him, if anybody believes, they are saved..

just the BIGGEST hint of the truth.....

To which I replied also via PM:

Lucy, I was not arguing that Reagan had accepted Jesus into his heart. I was arguing that Reagan was a lousy President. Those are two entirely different things.

You seem to be implying that ANYONE who has accepted Jesus into his heart is automatically beyond reproach. Like he's the Pope of something.

Your fanatic, righteous response in this case is worriesome. If you think Reagan was a great President, please give me some facts to back it up.

Sheesh, I wasn't bashing Born Agains, just crappy Presidents.

And I promise not to PM you again. Honest.

my pm was in response to you 1st pm to me......

are you that dumb or what???

now get lost, avoid me, avoid my threads, go haunt some other thread or forum.....

    start your own thread......

what you have done is very distasteful and disrespectful to our fallen leader on his funeral and to many Americans....

I'm sure there are others that hold your view, but they had the class to see:

    1. My thread wasn't political in nature
    2. Let the nation mourn.
    3. This thread isn't a place to come with datatribe and spread your own views....
    4. they chose to hold their tongue.

get it through your head now ok?

Your responses were not needed nor neccessary......

Rmember the words of Pres. Reagan to George Bush Sr. when he took office. "Don't let the turkey's get you." I think that's good advice for you too concerning thread crashers that are so narrow minded that they have 2" between their ears.

Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, I cannot stay away when you provide such compelling ammunition.

My original point to much of this was that this funeral now IS political in many ways. Afterall, those in the Nation that want to mourn can mourn. But to put a Saintly face on Reagan IS criminal. Much like Reagan's life, it's an exercise in selective memory.

And when you post on this forum, anyone can respond to it. Besides, you should be happy that so many here agree with your ridiculous views on Reagan.

Lucy, I understand that you feel personally insulted. But I did not insult you. I clearly asked you to make a distinction between the right to mourn, and the right to bash a bad President.

It's not like I referred to you as a Whacked Out Religiously Nutty Hep Kitty or anything. THAT might be taken as insulting.

And I go back to my original argument, BEWARE THOSE THAT INVOKE GOD TO JUSTIFY THEIR ACTIONS.

SeattleSlammer, I think yoiu have taken this out of context...you are bitter...and need to take your agenda somewhere else...Yes Reagan made errors...Error is to be human...and he was as you are...I never recalled Reagan INVOKING GOD TO JUSTIFY HIS ACTIONS...but I do know one who does...so please stop and be proud that we are the Greatest Nation on Earth and that you are allowed the freedom that so many Americans have fought and died for.

    1) Look for ways undermine the United States of America.

    2) Read more books on Marxism.

    3) Find new and improved ways to provide Aid and Comfort to enemies of the United States.

Not a single president in the last century has reversed the direction "towards" marxism in this country as a point of fact. Not one. Some have accelerated this journey by spending incredible amounts of money, thereby propelling this place into debt have guaranteed higher taxes for a longer period of time as they obviously have to collect on said debts don't they.

It's pathetic but laughable that the vast majority of people who use words like "libs" and "commies" etc haven't a clue as to what they're talking about.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

why is it that whenever a Republican leaves office and the country is improved it's all to his credit, yet when a Democrat leaves office and the country is improved it's due largely to policies of previous administrations??

why is it when a Republican takes office and things go south it's the fallout of previous administrations, yet when a Democrat takes office and things go south he needs to be removed because his policies are short-sighted and a dismal failure??

Reagan should be credited with raising the country up during his tenure, but surely not to the degree which many would claim. likewise, he also bears some of the responsibility for the failings which caused G1 enough problems to lose the office.

in the present day, G2 wants to place some blame of his failure on Clinton. fair enough, i guess. the trade-off is what happens in the next 4-10 years as a result of what he's doing now.
