Here's a coin vault deal that doesn't look too bad

So,

I am not "for" the CV and Robert Chambers, but flipping channels, I see a deal that doesn't appear too bad (though, I have never ordered from them so I don't know...but I would think a BU is at least a MS60 or greater as they would really get slammed if there were problems there....

So, 5 morgans + 5 peace dollars = $199.95 + $6.95 shipping
10 morgans + 10 peace dollars = $399.95 + $10.96 shipping

So, ~$20 per coin. They stated that they would not ALL be 1921.
Looking at an older greysheet (2 months old), that doesn't seem too bad of a price.

What am I missing? It actually seems like a good deal given how morgans have been going and the fact that if they were all MS60+, one could always ebay off any dupes or unwanted ones for at least $20 I would think.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

They are selling that the type of dollars that bring $12 to $15 on eBay when sold raw - assuming an honest description.

  • Beware, before I new anything about coin grades I bought a mixed roll of "BU" Morgans from them listed to be MS63's or better. All the coins had been cleaned or brushed and could not be sent in for grading.

It's easy to clean and overgrade coins, and then lie about their actual condition... image

I know one of their suppliers and it is SOP to basically throw XF/AU Morgan Dollars in a large kettle, fill it up with surface stripping chemicals, pat and dry, then ship them out by the thousands. HSN demands that the coins be treated as such before they take delivery. I have seen the after effect and it amounts to a bunch of brilliant, ungradable cleaned Silver DOllars. A few choice AU's might grade every now and then but for the most part all the coins are completely ruined. Stay away.
