Question on submitting crossovers

Should I cover the current grade on a coin when I submit it for a crossover from another service to Pcgs or does it matter?

It doesn't matter. They'll just peel it off.

Not if he uses those permanent labels dealers love to put on their slabs. Nobody can get those off.

A few months ago HRH said PCGS was putting stickers over the grade so the graders wouldn't know what it was. They probably lost interest in that by now.

I have a question on this subject...

If no minimum grade is specified, would it be better to crackout then submit than simply crossing over?

Unless your crossover coin is super scarce, or a super expensive coin, and you're worried about damage cracking it out, I recommend sending it in raw.

Shortly after that, he said that the graders do know the grades on crossovers.

If you don't specify a minimum grade, they'll cross only at the same grade or higher.

Any reason why? I'm asking this because I've never cracked out a slab before and I have about a dozen old green PCI slabs that I'm looking to cross and I'm not specifing any minimum grade. I currently have 3 at PCGS right now (2 ANACS and 1 old green PCI) all in their slabs. That fact that there's no min-grade I would think that PCGS would crack them out anyway and if there were previously undetected problems BB them.
