Attention: All Forum LURKERS, Please Read This Invitation (free coin inside)

There seems to be a lot of anamosity on the forums lately. I hope that has not further intimidated any of you from posting here. We need more coin related threads, so I invite you start posting to this forum. Ask the question that you have long wanted to ask. Post images of your coins. Whatever you want that is related to our hobby.

The first 3 new members who make their inaugural post within this thread will receive a free coin from jaderarecoin.

I welcome you in advance. image

Contest rules: Open only to new posters who make post count #1 in this thread. Not open to new accounts that are really just existing members trying to get a free coin (I am talking about you MadMarty!). David Hall is strictly prohibited from participating in this contest.

I'm not a newbie... but... my question... on your Icon coin... does the crack extend all the way around the rim of the coin? And is the reverse similarly cracked?

George, my icon is an 1820 Large Cent, Newcomb-13. It is the poster child of the Randall Hoard coins, with a few thousand Uncirculated examples known. It's also the coolest looking 1820 Cent, imho. The die crack is a 360 degree break on the obverse. The reverse is always perfect, and the obverse is always found with the 360 degree die break. A low end unc can be had for about $300 +/-. The coin in our icon grades MS-64 and is a $650 coin.

I read alot on this forum post very little ,mostly because I don't own a digital camera and pics on my scanner suck. My question is I have year sets from 1861 throug 1987 and beyond if I were to offer them up for sale would I be better off to keep them as year sets or brake them apart? Thanks for any suggestions.Larry

Inclusive? If so, that's potentially a HUGE chunk of change. You should be seeking out a trusted dealer before you do anything.

As a darksider I am an occasional "lurker" on this forum. I suspect that many potentially valuable forum members, with a great deal to add to it's informative function, steer clear because of threads like imagethis.

Wow, I'm impressed! I'm putting together a year set from just 1861, including gold. I would pay just to see the first set. Welcome to the boards, we need more folks like you.

    Hello all,

I must admit I am a lurker. I have enjoyed this board and feel I have learned alot already. I guess I have not posted much because I'm still fairly new to this and most of the frequent postes seem to have such great knowledge I don't think I could add much.

  • Hi, this isn't my very first post but I'm relatively new here. I've been reading the forums here on and off over the past week or two, and I think that I'm finally getting back into coin collecting! I'd love to win a coin to start out my collection again (stopped during college). Thanks for the contest.

Don,t be to impressed Tom. All my coins are raw from AG TO UNC no gold. Since I have been lurking aropund this forum unless its certified tere doesn't seem to be much interest. But I still like them for what they are.

Hey! This is my first post, so ill tell you alittle about me. Im 16, and have been collecting coins for 10 years, mostly morgans. For my 16th birthday, i got my first carson city. To my surprise, my grandfather had a few more stashed away, so he gave me them also...when it rains it pours. I had a question. My brother is going to college to become a Stock portfolio manager. He loves odd investments, and for his birthday i wanted to get him about a $75 coin, pref. graded. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
