Attention: All Forum LURKERS, Please Read This Invitation (free coin inside)
There seems to be a lot of anamosity on the forums lately. I hope that has not further intimidated any of you from posting here. We need more coin related threads, so I invite you start posting to this forum. Ask the question that you have long wanted to ask. Post images of your coins. Whatever you want that is related to our hobby.
The first 3 new members who make their inaugural post within this thread will receive a free coin from jaderarecoin.
I welcome you in advance.
Contest rules: Open only to new posters who make post count #1 in this thread. Not open to new accounts that are really just existing members trying to get a free coin (I am talking about you MadMarty!). David Hall is strictly prohibited from participating in this contest.

It has. It took all the courage I could muster just to write this.

Thanks.

on your Icon coin... does the crack extend all the way around the rim of the coin?
George, my icon is an 1820 Large Cent, Newcomb-13. It is the poster child of the Randall Hoard coins, with a few thousand Uncirculated examples known. It's also the coolest looking 1820 Cent, imho. The die crack is a 360 degree break on the obverse. The reverse is always perfect, and the obverse is always found with the 360 degree die break. A low end unc can be had for about $300 +/-. The coin in our icon grades MS-64 and is a $650 coin.

Russ, if you weren't so cheap you would offer the first 500 new members a free Slab Caddy.

You are confusing cheap with poor.

<< <i>My question is I have year sets from 1861 throug 1987 >>
Inclusive? If so, that's potentially a HUGE chunk of change. You should be seeking out a trusted dealer before you do anything.

Great to be here!

Wow, I'm impressed! I'm putting together a year set from just 1861, including gold. I would pay just to see the first set. Welcome to the boards, we need more folks like you.
Tom
I must admit I am a lurker. I have enjoyed this board and feel I have learned alot already. I guess I have not posted much because I'm still fairly new to this and most of the frequent postes seem to have such great knowledge I don't think I could add much.

Advice to new posters: Ask away. We may have heard the question before, but so what? We were all new here once and the purpose of the forum is to share what we know.
Joe
Thanks

Russ, since I'm a forum member interesting in buying your slab caddy, I was wondering if you'd offer it to me for a flat price instead of an ebay price?

Okay all of you members who have very few posts, but more than one, we will send you something as well (probably proof Franklin half or something). I will pm you later, or feel free to drop me a pm.
looks like jimmieboi and ddbird are the next 2 first time posters, so they will each get a silver dollar (send address via pm please).

Yep... But I'm going to try to do better. I've learned a lot here these past months, though.
If he made that offer, this forum would never see another new member.
Jim
OK, where's my coin?
Make it a 89 CC, anything above Fine will do,
Thanks,
Dan

Russ, NCNE
Do I win?
<< <i>I have been a lurker as well. I have been here nearly 2 full years with only 8 posts. >>
Probably a boot to the head.
If you enjoy the hobby, you want to be here.

Thanks for doing this thread.
I think it is a great idea. I think the spirit of this forum really needed a lift like this.
