    Interesting. I have an 1881 Morgan in one of those slabs, graded as MS60, that is easily a 64. I suspect this coin is about the same way.

    Yeah, this particular coin could easily get into a 3 holder at PCGS.

    I had a Franklin Press colonial in one of those holders, graded XF, broke it out and PCGS gave it a AU50.

    I had one photo holdered coin. My 1900 $5 gold went from MS60 to PCGS MS62. Conservative???

    Just judging from the picture of the commemorative, obviously unable to discern minor ticks etc

    having such a gorgeous luster I would say that on that basis alone, 63/64 easily today at PCGS!image

    Jeremy, if your 48 is a 63 in one of those slabs, you may very well be looking at a 66 today!image

    I tried to pick up a beautifully toned proof franklin in one of those holders a few months back, and was outbid. Now I'm kicking myself for not coughing up more to snag it (I generally only go for only cameo examples, and this one didn't have that designation). I wish I saw more of those holders on ebay, but they seem few and far between. image
