A perfect example of why it's impossible to accurately grade proof coins from an image.
Just got this one in today.
It's the coin I posted about in this thread.

Image on the left was shot as I normally shoot proof coins, while the image on the right was shot at a severe angle under very harsh light.

Another one for my coin toilet seat !!!
Seriously, do you think the seller took the angle deliberatly to decieve, I know the question may sound obvious, but not everyone knows what their doing with a camera or scanner.

This seller knows exactly what he's doing with a camera. He sells quite a few SMS coins, shooting the coins at multiple angles using a balloon pattern to show depth of mirrors and cameo contrast. He's very experienced at this. Even if he started yesterday, the hairlining on this one is so obvious the most rank rookie can see it.

I completely agree. Weighed against the scores I've nailed, this certainly isn't anything to worry about. Besides, it's an excellent educational coin.

We all pay some stupid tax in life. Fortunately, this was a trivial amount.
I'd leave negative feedback to the seller. I agree, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Check out a Vanguard Roth IRA.
I have made good on more that I have been took for.
<< <i>Are those hairlines from being wiped with something,or from mint? >>
They're from being wiped. I've never seen a 1969 with hairlining this severe that was mint produced.

<< <i>Accented hairlines maybe? >>
Looking at that coin, I think you'd really have to work at it to get it that hairlined. Whoa!
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Should get it tomorrow...if it looks 69DCAM like the seller says it does I'm gonna send it in to be slabbed!

A PR69DCAM Accented Hair is the Holy Grail for the proof Kennedy collector. To date, it's never been done. It is, however, on my "to do" list.
