It looks like it was dug and curated...still see places that were exposed to corrosion. (light pink areas that have been cleaned)

I know I'm just a grumpy old man, but IMHO, this has been in a fire, has been buried in the ground for a long time, has been harshly cleaned and retoned, and will never slab @ PCGS or NGC; so, I would PASS.image

Great detail but terrible corrosion. Wouldn't be slabbed because of the damage. Really not worth buying unless for next to nothing.

Don't let me give you the wrong idea. I'm NOT in the market for this coin. I just have issues with it being called a GEM.

you would pass because of the problems, or pass because it won't slab? i don't get it.

I sent the seller the following question/comment:

<< <i>I was wondering if you had put the wrong picture in this auction? By your glowing discription i would expect a coin that looks quite a bit better than the one you have pictured ? >>

    This was his response:

<< <i>The picture is correct, and so is the description. Julian >>

    This disgusts me image

c'mon now folks--- calling it ms-65 is certainly off base, but that doesn't make it a putrid coin! I'd LOVE
to own it. Just not at ms-65 money.

Based on the picture and not the description, what's a decent price for this coin ?

Doug is right. It's not the coin, it's the description.

    At $40 seems appropriately priced.

Sharpness of AU-50, even moderate corosion, heavier corrosion on reverse at CA, two digs in the obverse one to the left of the dat the other by star 11. Net VG-10 It's about a $20 coin.
