Are original bank roll 1973 pennies worth anything?
Back many years ago when I was a vault teller and pennies got very scarce, we got a large shipment in from the Fed. I kept $10 worth of original bank roll pennies and have been hanging on to them ever since. This was the last of the copper pennies before they went to a zinc mix.
Are they worth anything now and what should I do with them? Are they worth hanging on to for another 30 years? I don't think they will ever be worth slabbing but would like to think so.

I remember banks paying 15% over face for bags of pennies in 73-4 for their commercial clients.

I'm still giving away the new nickels (thanks again), they bring joy everywhere I go.
I remember our bank doing that as well. Even I was digging in my pocket change.

Might be something to consider in the near future. Glad everyone is enjoying the nickels. I enjoyed doing it.

'73 is a slightly better date. Gems are elusive and really choice gems are
scarce. Mint set coins suffer from marking and roll coins from poor strikes
and marking. There is a growing problem with tarnish on this date cent in
the mint sets.
bunch of Ikes! I have never come accross one good enough to
even think about sending in, until going through 73 Mint Sets one day looking for good Ikes, I happened
to notice this penny. It has virtually no marks at all. It does have some
tarnish like Cladking mentioned....kind of pinkish-red. I left it mint-sealed when
I sent it in.
My first Lincoln.......probably will come back 63!
