An introductory "hello" from this newbie

I've been interested in US coins since I was 10. My goal in coin collecting is to have fun doing it. I've been reading posts in this forum for weeks in hope of learning more about the hobby and picking up useful tips and ideas. So far, I haven't been disappointed.

Right now slabbed Mercs, Roosies, Lincoln Cents, Buffalos & Jeffersons. moderns. etc...
It seems quixotic. Especially since my goal is to have all my coins slabbed by either PCGS or NGC. I might have to sacrifice grade quality by a couple of points in order to complete a set. I seem to have trouble focusing on collecting one denomination for a prolonged period of time. It drives my wife crazy at times.

I still read a lot even though I have been a member for quite awhile. There has never been a day (should say a time) that I have logged on and not learned something.
There are some of the most knowledgeable and trustworthy individuals here. I am very grateful that I found this forum. The forum across the street is very good as well, just not quite the busy pace as here. Please don't be afraid to post. I know I was for quite some time because it seemed like when I was thinking of asking a question it had already been answered recently or in the past. Plus I was afraid that I would ask a stupid question or say something that offended someone. But then I realized that the only stupid question is one that you don't ask and everyone is entitled to their opinion whether you like it or not.
Anyway welcome to the board and the greatest hobby in the world!

Thanks for the quick "welcomes". I can tell this is an active forum.
Are there any Yankees fans out there?
