Thanks primarily to the darkside, this is my 1000th post, so I'm giving away one of the coins which first got me interested in darkside collecting. It's a 1895EE (1903) gersh from Ethiopia, KM12, with a portrait of the Emperor Menelik II on the obverse and the Lion of Judah on the reverse. I became interested in collecting foreign coins after buying a bunch of these coins at street markets when I lived in Ethiopia as a teenager, and I wanted to share one with a lucky winner. Just post to enter, and I'll draw a name sometime in the next couple of days. image

    Cool giveaway! I got the coin today--I love the ones with personal history. I was also able to add another stork to the collection thanks to Newsman..the one from 1996 Armenia--Chess Olympiad...at least it looks like a stork to me, though I may be biased image
