Bought 20 bulk silver dollars for $8 each, an old guy brought them in and the guy at the pawn shop counted 20 and paid the old guy $7 each. I offered him $8 each and took the lot. This was one of them!

That has to be the second greatest find of all time, right behind the person who snagged that 1894-S dime out of a junk box. Congratulations, Marty! Awesome, awesome find.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Build a nice album set around it. It isn't like the value of the coin represents any risk. What a killer start to a dansco set.

I cannot believe everyone is congratulating you. This is very unethical...

You should go back to the pawn shop, pay the owner a share, track down the seller, pay him a share...

    oh never mind! Great score!!

What a rip -- one that is going to be near impossible to top! Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Way to go, Marty! Your heart must have leaped out of your chest when you came across it. I imagined you have to double and triple check it because you didn't believe it yourself. What was your reaction? Geesh .... ditto what Russ said on the King of Suck.

YIKES!...Looks like you hit the jackpot. But, I agree with Russ that it's obviously been cleaned. PCGS wsill body-bag it, IMHO. ANACS will probably slab it F details, net VG8 cleaned. ACG would probably grade it AU-58, prooflike. image

He didn't realize it until he was looking at them while driving home - and almost hit the car in front of him!

I think the coin is at least VF details.

Alright! You'r pretty hard core when you're looking through coins when driving! Glad Marty didn't nail the car in front of him, that nearly could have wiped out his profit, although me suspects this one ain't going up for sale ... image
