Ordered this today. It's a William II (1087-1100) penny. Cross in quatrefoil type. I'll have it paid off in 7 or 8

    Spink 2004 (S1259): £900 in VF and £425 in F

    Superb example - very round and full. Excellent portrait.

    William Rufus was killed by an arrow in the New Forest, Hampshire. It was supposed to be a hunting accident but more likely an assasination. Reigned 1087-1100.
