How many pop. 1's have you made??

I'll start off the bragging:

I made the first:
PCGS MS67 1943-d cent
PCGS MS67 1960 dime
PCGS MS67 1946 quarter
PCGS MS66 1961 half (came from same source as Madmarty's 1961 MS66 FBL)

and others, but these are the ones off the top of my head

I slabbed the 2001(p) Jeff in PCGS-MS68FS last week (pop 1), but then I also slabbed the pop 2 and the pop 3 the same day image The best (3) 2001(p) Jeffs I had ever seen went 3/3 in a 3 coin submission looking for MS68FS. I know lightening doesn't strike twice, so I won't be submitting this month image

If you mean pop 1/0....then none. If you mean pop1 for the date/grade, then more than 50!

a pop 1 has eluded me, I have made many many top pops, I sent in a top pop 55d Washie, but the lofty status of a pop 1 only coin once again has eluded me.

1902-O Micro-O Morgan Good-6 (first one they ever graded)
1901 doubled die reverse Morgan AU55 (highest graded at the time)
1888-O Hot Lips Morgan AU58 (first one of those at that grade)
    1880/9-S Morgan MS68 (still a pop1/0)

Since this thread was started I also made the MS63 1880-O VAM 49 Morgan that was pop 1/0 until a few months ago, and the MS64DMPL 1896 VAM 19 Morgan that is pop 1/0.
    When in doubt, don't.

Clackamas, I remember yours like it was yesterday! FS 1968-D Jefferson only one graded in FS (I believe it is still the only one).

Lee, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?! No mention of a certain prototype?

I do not believe I have ever made a 1/0, however the search shall continue.

    Well, you got me!

But, its not a PCGS coin which, I assume, is what folks are referencing here.

BTW, I hope it stays unique for a very long time but with the interest the IKE Group is generating on the IKE GROUP forums, you just never know.

image Only one an 1848-D/D half eagle that was in a PCGS 61 holder and got upgraded into a 62 holder which I then flipped for a nice profit. Another one I cherrypicked at a local coinshow was a 1942-D double die obverse quarter that when I sent in to PCGS was tied for finest known as a 63 but then another one graded 64 by the time I got the coin back.image

What comes to mind for me (since Fall 1998):

    PCGS pop(1/0)

    1962-D MS65FS 5c
    1963 MS67FS 5c

    1968-D MS68 25c
    1979 MS68 25c
    1992-D MS67 25c
    1992-D MS68 25c

    and finally . . . .

    1981-S MS67 SBA $1

I don't know which collections the nickels are currently residing. They were submitted through the PCGS-Teletrade program in 2000 and sold on TT. They aren't listed
in any PCGS registry set I know of.

FWIW, I slabbed the first 1953-S Jeff 5c with full steps (MS64FS.)

Thanks for allowing me to boast.

    Allow me to add:

    1969-D MS68 25c (made same time as 68-D in '8')
    1969-P MS67 25c

These are no longer pop 1/0, but they were when slabbed (10/1998 & 7/2000.)

I like my clad quarter series.

Pop 1 on a couple of Lincoln varieties; 1934 DDO FS-013.79 PCGS MS64RB
    1972 DDO FS-033.54 PCGS MS64BN (DIE 4)

Neither of these are pop 1 any longer. This should be the second 34 DDO that has been submitted to PCGS.

Of the three examples I have seen, this has the strongest remnants of the digits below the date. Shag

I've made 2. My first was 1922Weak D MS 64 Red Lincoln Cent which I
no longer own sold it at Heritage Sale in St Louis MO a couple years
ago fetched $5K. My second one was the first 1941-D MS67 RB
Lincoln Cent that was alone for about a year until someone came
up with a nice roll and made 20 in 67 RB. That coin I still have.

Made a top pop, 1/0, MS64 1893 Columbian Half RPD FS-301. One of two graded, with the other one in MS63, which I also happen to own, so not only did I make a top pop 1/0, I own the entire population. I'll post pics later today of the entire population.

I'll come up with something, eventually.
