I'm surprised this dealer would stoop to keyword spamming, but he has:

Auction

It ain't even a coin!

It is up to $82K with 9 days to go! Wow. It this for real? He says that he will ship in the US via Priority Insured for $40, but you cannot purchase $82,000 worth of insurance from the USPS..........or am I missing something. Wouldn't that go Registered Mail (which, I think, has a limit of $25K per package). For that price, JP should get on a plane and hand deliver the comic to the winner.

One more thing: what will the final closing fee be on something this big??

I'd have to check, but I think the final value fees would be 1.25%. I don't know how he plans to insure it, unless he uses a private carrier for insurance.

My point is, I don't want to find comic books when I am searching for Morgan Dollars.

Yes, I understood your point, but I was distracted by the auction itself. The spamming thing doesn't make sense either. What good would spamming do on an item such as a six figure comic? There are probably only 3 or 4 people in America who are potential buyers for that thing.

Did you read the text of the auction? He stated that eBay yanked one of his auctions last week for "key word spamming", yet he is doing it again. What's up??

I saw the auction last week, and didn't read it this time around figuring it would be the same. You're right, he mentions it and is doing it again! Unbelievable, I didn't figure Jay Parrino to be this type of seller.

First of all, this kind of crap will never seem to stop. PayBay cares less and less as long as they get paid. At 40K income a minute after overhead, they give about two sh*ts regardless.

Second, I wouldn't ALLOW anybody to ship me a collectable like that worth 82K or more anywhere. Keep it where it is,.. I'll fly out in 24 hours to collect it personally. I can't believe that anyone would pay this kind of money for anything to begin with and not employ a courier service to pick the stuff up and deliver it in my hands. I ask you, would you trust USPS with 82 thousand dollars worth of your collectables? If you say yes, you need to either step away from the crack pipe, or start sharing.

Third, I can't immagine this type of transaction taking place over PayBay without an escrow service involved to start with. This isn't a freaking Allen Ladd repro of a Shane poster,.. it's thousands of real dollars changing hands. What the hell are people thinking?

Sorry, but if if these people are stupid enough to deal this way with this magnitude of funds and they get screwed, in my "real world", not "humble" opinion, they deserve it.

Well, I don't think getting taken is the problem here. Jay Parrino is a well known dealer not only in coins, but paper money and comics. My gripe is he is listing this in the coins-Morgan dollar category, and is keyword spamming PCGS and NGC.

That is not a concern with this seller. The fact is, $82 grand is small potatoes for him.

Just wondering is that comic book sealed in plastic. If it is how could you read it? I guess if you spend that kind of money on things like that you got comic books in your head.

That's the impression I got. Seems he doesn't understand the problem was listing the item with PCGS and NGC in the title. I'm sure eBay will explain it to him again.

I have two sellers using my text verbatim and one using one of my pictures (it has my freakin EBay ID in the middle of the pic, it doesn't get more obvious) ~ my competitors post pictures with their phone numbers in the background or even list their toll free phone number as the second line in the title. All violations, all UNADDRESSED by EBay even though they all violate EBay policies. I refuse to stoop this low by choice. When I type in a search of EBay, PCGS morgan 1878, I better by heavens not see a toaster oven, barbie doll, rectal thermometer, or comic book. Yes, some us are a little sensitive when it comes to petty little EBay rules...
