Merc 45S Micro?

MrSpudMrSpud Posts: 4,499 ✭✭✭
Hi,
My wife is working on a folder of circulated Mercury Dimes. She picked up 6 different dates for $6 on e-bay because she needed 5 of them, only what was supposed to be a 45 was actually a 45S. This is good because she needed that one too. We looked it up in a Redbook and noticed that there is something called a Micro S variety for 45S. The S looks kinda small to us but we aren't sure. Is this a micro S? Also, for the fun of it, what ballpark grade would you give this? Thanks, in advance, for any replies.

Need closer pictures of the coin, that's too far to tell... I'll be lookin for a Micro-S tomorrow, so if I can grab one, I'll scan it and post it here tomorrow evening or Sunday

The scan is much too small and dark to tell. Can you take a better photo??

I can try. I had some really large clear ones but they were too big for the site to accept them. I'll try again though with this one. Thanks.

One last try. Hopefully, this one will be clearer. Sorry about the ones that weren't clear.

    Thanks, Lucy.
Anybody have any tips on how to make a clear picture upload properly on this forum?

You have to shoot for about 50K size. Yours are only about 10K. 400 X 400 with a moderate jpg compression will give you decent pics.

OK, I think I figured out how to post a good picture. Thanks for the tips. Here is the Mercury 45S. Any more opinions on whether it is a Micro S and/or any guesses on the grade? Also, I read in the Redbook something about Micro S having something to do with the Phillipines. What's that about? Thanks, in advance, for any replies.
