I just downloaded the picture from the auction and blew it up and if it is plugged they sure did a good job as I can't see it!!

It seems easier to see on the reverse side. Might be a nice way to get into a 1795 dollar.

Just popped into my head. But......reverse under bow DOES look like a circular area there.

I have had some coins repaired and they looked every bit as good as this one.

The real craftsmen use same era coins for their filler metal so the composition is the same.

Could be.

It's plugged alright, but an expert job of it. Problem here is the seller does not mention the coin being plugged, and more than likely a couple of bidders will take this up to what a problem free coin should go for.

the toning around the "E" is darker than surrounding letter, & it looks like the rim directly above it is distorted. also, the 2 letters just don't "look right". on the reverse below the left ribbon end, the planchet looks bulged.

this could be a problem w/ my crappy monitor making the images not look right, but i didn't see a return policy offered.

If I use my imagination the E in LIBERTY looks a little over pronounced, mainly the seriffs and I do see the slight bulging & change of color on the rev by the bow but then again it could be my imagination or the picture so I don't feel comfortable going on record saying it's plugged.

agreed. i can't say w/ 100% certainty it's plugged, but w/out a return policy, i won't bid

Me neither.
I don't care even if there is a return policy and I use a credit card, it'd @ least have to be in a slab before I'd even consider buying it over the net from less than a recognized & reputable dealer.
Too many fakes and doctored coins in that series to even go through the hassle.
