Deja Vu with the other thread going on right now...

aswimmer was busted modifying some photos on an in-progress eBay auction to try to cover up some telltale details that showed that he had artificially toned and resold a coin purchased earlier. And he then continued to strenuously deny it after the fact despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary.

It's therefore difficult for me to put much stock in what he says now, so I won't bother reading it.

This is absolutely incredible. The last person I expected to see back posting here would be you Mr. Swimmer. Let's run down some of the facts:

    1) You purchased expensive lab hot plates and ovens on eBay. When this was pointed out, you claimed they were for your daughter's dormitory room to heat pizza. Uh huh.

    2) You were observed on eBay buying untoned coins, then a few weeks later you had them up on eBay as toned coins. These were proven to be the same coins, even though during some of the auctions you attempted to touch up the distinguishing marks and replace the photos. You were caught red handed doing this.

    3) A well respected board member informed us that you did not back up your PCGS/NGC bodybag guarantee, and in fact, you bounced yet another check for a refund, then just sent the coins back. Now you want us to believe some kock-n-bull story. Sorry, when it comes time to decide who to believe here, you have as much credibility as Pinocchio.

And, as Russ pointed out, you are seriously underestimating the intelligence of those of us who frequent this forum. While you may get away with duping all the people you screw on eBay with your bogus cooked artificially toned coins, you are not going to get anywhere trying to pull the smoke and mirror routine here. Sorry Charlie.

K6AZ, the above quote from your post, was the only part I would disagree with. I believe that Pinochio has a much better track record with the truth.image

Mr. ASwimmer, this is the first and only time that I have or will respond to a thread that you are in.
First, "Life is merely a series of choices." You seem to have made quite a few bad ones. And then you choose to come here to some seriously intelligent people and spread a bunch of unsubstanciated lies.

I would think that if enough people report him for fraud, ebay will ax him sooner or later.

Probably later. aswimmer is still an eBay PowerSeller with auctions closing this weekend. Might he just get a new email address for another eBay ID?. The most successful fraudulent coin sellers on eBay are not afraid to use three or four eBay accounts in a year when eBay suspends a few. (I remember Katzcoins and CTNumisaut). If all else fails, they will move their business to Yahoo, with their former eBay customers left holding the body bags.

Thanks for continuing the fight against eBay coin scams, Eric (K6AZ).

Well, I finally made it on to the board. It looks like you, collectively, have done well in exposing fraudulent sellers. For my part, I hope to have dealt our friend, Mr. Swimmer, a death blow. I have supplied all relevant correspondence to eBay administration and the preponderance of evidence should end aswimmer's life on eBay under his current ID. I am now primarily concerned with helping two individuals who won the same high dollar aswimmer auction. The first, dark_knight2010, returned the lot he won from Alan Swimmer and has not yet received his refund of $5550. The second, gavice, may have overpaid for the goods described in the reauction and may yet lose his bid amount (if he returns the auction goods).

    dark_knight2010 feedback left for sellers
    dark_knight2010 feedback received

I will respond to any questions regarding my dealings with aswimmer and will post separately about the feedback I left for Alan Swimmer.

Let me say that I am glad to have joined a group of knowledgable and caring individuals. I only wish that I had known of you earlier. I especially want to thank k6az for inviting me to join this forum.

I'm a level headed person too....and sorry I wasted 15 minutes reading that paragraphless diatribe. My eyes are bleeding from squinting.

Seems that a ASwimmer makes lots of poor choices and has bad turns of luck. I didn't see any reference to his dog or cat hiding a REG letter so there is still at least one excuse left. Too many coincidences and unusual circumstances. Common sense dictates how to act in this situation.

    Hi,

Apparently GAVICE is a fraudulent bidder. Look at his feedback. This guy looks as he was doing somebody a favor but it is a sleazy way I think..

I had no clue this many neagatives had been posted on gavice since I looked at his feedback. Maybe he won't honor his bid and will leave Alan sitting on that pile of junk.

I have a feeling gavice will be getting a whole lot more.

Do a search by bidder and see how many items he has won or bid on in the last month.

I just think that someone got lucky, and he hit one of swimmer's auctions, and saved them some hassle.
