How To Crack Out a Coin Safely


Anyone have any ideas on how to safely crack a coin out of a PCGS slab????

All opinions are appreciated.

    I just cracked out 12 coins.

    I used a big set of side cutters. Cut into the slab
    at the centerline of the coin and whalla.........

    No problem.......thanks

    The thread is 4 months old and the poster long since deleted the pictures.

    Be sure to always wear eye protection. Those little shards of plastic can fly up and hit you pretty hard sometimes.

    Don't want to do free advertising.
    Just get one of those craft drill and a light/medsandinding disc.
    Careful with the speed.
    Looks like this.
    Wear gloves and be careful about plastic pieces.

    I had to find alternatives. My customers freak when they see a hammer around high tech equipment.
    The hammer is my favorite fixer.!
