HUGE HOARD UNSEARCHED WHEATIES 0 KEYS FOUND!!

Fresh from the estate of the late Mrs. Watta Crock. Mrs. Crock and her (also late) sister Mrs. Thisisa Crock, spent decades squirreling away wheat cents, filling up empty beer kegs, (they were heavy drinkers), and burying the kegs in their back yard.
After Mrs. Watta Crock passed on, a local developer discovered the buried kegs while excavating the property in preparation for the construction of a Starbucks. He was somewhat disappointed that the kegs were filled with pennies and not beer (also a heavy drinker). Dutifully, though, he passed on the HUGE HOARD OF UNSEARCHED WHEATIES to the Crock family's estate attorneys at the law firm of Dewey, Cheatum and Howe.

After extensive negotiations with Mrs. Watta Crock's lawyers at Dewey, Cheatum and Howe I was able to secure a small portion of this HUGE HOARD OF UNSEARCHED WHEATIES to bring to you here on eBay. To be precise, 2 pounds worth, or about 280 coins. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MAY FIND!

How do you have 19 bids, and only 15 showing on the page's hit counter?

More importantly, how do you get people to pay that kind of money for wheat cents! Holy crap!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Kranky,

The hit counters have been FUBAR the last couple days. Earlier today, they weren't working at all.

Edit: The counter is showing 185 for me.

Send him an email with an attachment of an MS64RD 1911-S. Tell him you found one and had it certified, but it was from a different hoard. (Also drinkers)image

Your start price was way too low. Should have started it around $100...should have also mentioned that the PCGS value of these coins in MS69 was in excess of $1,030,000. That would have reeled them in.

Maybe, the guy was just trying to be funny too, I mean, he can't be that stupid, it was pretty obvious you were poking fun...or maybe he is a partner at Dewey, Cheatum and Howe and was offended. image

Reminds me of the joke about the dentist who had a blonde come in for some dental work wearing a walkman and headphones. She settled into the chair and he went to work. While he was working she fell asleep, so the dentist removed the headset because it was getting in his way. When he finished and tried to awaken the patient he discovered to his horror that she was dead! So he called the police and while he was waiting for hem to arrive he picked up the walkman to put it back with the body and realized it was still turned on and playing. Out of curiousity as to what she had been listening to he put the phones up to his ear and heard "Breathe in . . . . .Breathe out. . . Breathe in. . . "
