Python, I find these Maundy coins, while holed, to be of extreme interest. It seems if the monarch gave away only a few dozen each year, they should be quite rare and expensive. But the prices seem reasonable. How expensive are Maundy coins usually?

The Victorian pieces aren't maundy coins. They are mutilated threehalfpences.

I would lay odds that all items are also polished.

Jester, after seeing your #203 thread and the discussion you and Aethelred were having I did some checking.
I found this information in Coincraft and English Silver Coinage by Rayner. It's believed that until the time of George II
or George III that only silver pennies(and sometimes twopence) were given as Maundy gifts. The early coins were struck for circulation. These coins are not very rare and certainly not in this condition. I paid $150 for a 1686 James II 4d in
a ANACS MS60 holder.

Jester, some of the early 2-4d's are rated as rare some are common. Rayner lists most of the James II coins as scarce
but in VF or better. On the other hand all sets up to 1792 recieve a rating of scarce or better.
