My only toned coin, question...

Well, a while back, with a bad scanner i toook a picture of thius coin and i was told that it was AT by some, i thought differently though and here is a new pic, what do you think? The darker spots are more blue then the picture suggests.

    dont know.
determining NT from AT from a scan is next to impossible for me.

If it looks real to you and you like it, thats all that counts.
  • maybe i should contact tonecoin and ask him if it is what his "NT" morgans look like image

Ok ok, I,ll say it. It looks NT to me.
Its just I cant see the color so the dark areas just look black.
Pretty sure they,re not though huh.
    Nice coin regardless.

I don't think it would holder because it looks cleaned & retoned, according to the picture.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    Hockeyman,

Can't tell much from the picture, and I'm not the best at toning, but I do know you can dip a Morgan, and put it on the shelf near a natural gas appliance and get the brownish/blue. Who's to say whether that qualifies as AT.

  • ya its bluer then the picture shows,

Dog97: I have been told that before, what tells you that?

Cause it doesn't look natural or original. It has the look of a cleaned & retoned coin. That brown & green is not natural. Of course it could be some kind of album or envelope tone which would make it natural but I still don't think it would holder.
Here's some with almost the exact same colors. Both of these are cleaned & retoned and have been bodybagged by PCGS.

IMHO, it's AT. I'll never understand the recent craze about "monster toning". So many have been artificially "doctored".

Dog97, That 85 obverse with the textile was bodybagged? I thought textile was about as conclusive as you could get that NT. Cleaned after coming out of the bag then retoning??
