Now that the New Year is underway.....

What is the one or two cards on your "hope to " or " gotta have " it list for 2004?

Mine would be any more PSA graded singles from the 1900 Cope's Golfers set and a 1930 Sweetacres Bobby Jones ( I have left a couple of PSA 6's slide on ebay in the last 6 months.........aarrggghhhh)

    (2) 1934 Goudey's - PSA 7 Grove and PSA 7 Allen to finish my first set, and a PSA 5 Trosky to finish my second set.
    (3) Pre-war hockey Hall of Famers.

No "must haves" . . . I would like the following 1975 Topps PSA 9's:

    1 Aaron Highlights
    70 Schmidt
    300 Jackson
    660 Aaron

I won't pay what 500 Ryan is currently going for, so he's not on my list.

A PSA 3 or better '10-11 C56 Lester Patrick, which is the last card I need for that set, and a PSA 8 '53-54 Parkie Gordie Howe, which is one of the last two cards I need for that set.

I actually bid on the T206 Plank PSA 2 that ended last night on ebay. I tried to raise my bid to 12.6K, but ebay wouldn't accept it since the winning bidder had just raised the high bid from 12.1K to 13K.

Vargha, did you notice that Frank Smith got a 9 on a Schmidt on his recent submission. That means he has 2 now. You might talk to him.

Continue to build my 1954 commons in nicely centered PSA 7.

Then at the end of the year, register the set with a bang.

I didn't join the boards until after the initial post, so let me do a before and after:
At the first of the year, top o' the list were:

    '59 Morrell Koufax
    '55 Topps Clemente
    '57 Topps Mantle
    '61 Topps Mantle A.S. PSA 7 (for set #1)
    '61 Topps Mantle A.S. PSA 6 (for set #2)
    '63 Topps Rose RC

Now, in the same order: need it, got it, need it, got it, got it, need it.

not bad, considering these cards (except the Rose) had been on my list for quite some time.

I also did not join the boards until quite recently. My New Year's single card want list has not changed since January:

    1971 Bazooka Numbered Willie Mays
1987 Donruss All-Stars Box Panel (Scott, Clemens, Krukow)
    1982 Fleer Test Cal Ripken
    1968 Kahn's Ron Santo (Red)
1970 OPC Hank Aaron PSA 7
1965 Topps Embossed Ron Fairly PSA 8

I will probably just cut and paste this list in for the 2005 thread. Thanks for letting me whine.

"1961-62 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain PSA 7
1963-64 Parkhurst Gordie Howe PSA 8
C56 Hockey singles in PSA 5 or better
Plus anything else on my lists that is a "decent" price "

I am still looking for the Wilt but I got the Gordie Howe and am working on a deal for some C56's.
