  • My greysheet from November 14 lists it as bid 1375 and ask 1500. It just says VG though and does not break it down any further.

Thanks Paul, I'm looking at one for $1,000 and am trying to decide if that is a good price or not. This is not a series I collect but I know that this is one of the keys.

$1,000 for an original, un-messed-with, solid AG would be a good deal.

Thanks for the help all. I think it is ok but its allways hard to tell it the coin has been cleaned in a scan. It seems to have the correct diagnostics according to the PCGS counterfeit detection book.image

  • From what I've seen if you can get a nice one in that condition that hasn't been scrubbed, or with multiple rim brusises etc. you better grab it. They are not being offered anywhere near Greysheet bid/ask for problem free coins in any grade. A recently advertised piece in CoinWorld 2 weeks ago for fine PCGS 12 was $3200.00. I will see the dealer next week, and I would be surprised if he still has the coin.

Not sure how many of you were paying attention to the bidding on the problem `93-s morgans auctioned at FUN. I was amazed at such bidding for coins that were slabbed as "cleaned" and "whizzed" and the like (I forget the other descriptions). There appears to be value in the `93-s regardless of problems.

Seattle slammer sumed it up, you would be lucky to find a PCGS certified Ag-3 for 1000.00. The prices on the lower to mid circ grades oare on fire.
  • Don't buy it raw. From what I understand, it's a heavily counterfeited coin. Even if you trust your diagnostics, I wouldn't take the chance. You have to ask yourself, why isn't it in at least a ANACS slab with at least a net grade (if cleaned).

Make sure it is slabbed by a major service. I wouldn't buy that date raw.
