David (HRH): Thanks for sharing that great example of customer service with us forum members. It's great to know that PCGS backs up their coins with such a strong guarantee -- even if they degrade in their holder years after they were certified.

You and PCGS deserve alot of credit for this goodwill!!

My hat is off to PCGS. Well done.

Heritage's description of that coin did not state it was perfect. They did say no "significant flaws." It could be said that a minor spot here or there is indeed not significant. Normally it isn't.....except this coin has a PF70 insert.

Why not add it to Jeremy/airplanenut's next auction?

karl they know who it is and so do others. It was talked about at FUN last year and I have to tell you I wasn't surprised when I heard who had submitted it and that it had turned.

<< <i>The 1963 PR 70 Lincoln cent in the Heritage auction was purchased by PCGS. We purchased the coin to take it off the market since it had "turned" in the holder and was no longer PR70. >>

Great move David!!image PCGS puts it's money behind it's grading, unlike the other grading companys.

Well done, that was the right thing to do. But I'm sure it will be in the minds of every grader when they are consider a proof lincoln for the lofty grade of 70. I doubt if we'll see ya put another oldie in a 70 holder for a while.

I am very happy about this David as I looked at the coin the other day, and it truly is a dog.

This is yet just another example of why it is best to buy coins particularly copper in the older slabs whether it be ICG, NGC, ANACS or PCGS.

Of course, so many of you poo poo that.

Mr. Hall, that was one stand-up, right thinking way to go. EXCELLENT! I think that speaks as loudly in the Public Relations arena as to the recent flap on this board about PCGS backing its guarantee as you will find. OUTSTANDING!!
